Exodus Room

Immediately afterwards, you'll see an installation by Rudolf Leitner-Gr├╝ndberg, the so-called "Exodus Room", a place to pause and reflect. At its centre is an opened wooden shrine, whose gilded interior is empty. An indication that Viennese musical life has never recovered from the expulsion and murder of many of its composers and performers by the National Socialists. What may have been inside the golden shrine has long since disappeared - scattered to the four winds.
